David Benedek was born in Paris in 1989 with a cross-cultural origin that would quietly shape his instinct for sensory storytelling. But it is his grandparents’ story that truly sets the scene. Exiled from Transylvania, they were among the first people authorised to represent prestigious fragrance houses such as Worth and Christian Dior in Paris during the 1950s, later opening their first boutique in the 1960s at the corner of rue Royale and rue Saint-Honoré. Perfume was never just a business for the Benedek family, it was a language passed down through generations.

The Collection Studio: 10 Years, A New Language

BDK Parfums marks its tenth anniversary with the launch of a fourth collection, the Collection Studio, emblematic of the House’s core values. The heart of this creation lies an amplified dialogue with fashion, a subtle thread that has run through the studies and journey of David Benedek. Each fragrance resonates with a material, a fabric, and echoes a style, a spirit.

As Benedek himself puts it: ‘Just as a silhouette is perfected by a garment, a perfume elevates one’s presence.’

The Collection Studio weaves a precious link between haute perfumery and the creativity of fashion under the sign of couture elegance, a new language fusing the two worlds in perfect harmony. Technically, the collection pushes further than anything BDK PARFUMS has done before: the first three fragrances are Absolu de Parfum with concentrations ranging from 40% to 48%, signed by perfumer Jordi Fernández of Givaudan, and composed with exceptional raw materials, crafted with the same precision and exigence as Haute Couture textiles. In each creation, wood plays a structuring role, sandalwood, oudwood, and cedarwood, lending depth and lasting presence.

The three inaugural scents each speak to a fabric, a colour, a mood

  • Stellar Silk draws inspiration from smoked silk, fluid, tactile, luminous. Nocturnal in character, it evokes the mystery of astral darkness shot through with flashes of light.

  • Oud Paradisio reimagines leather through a violet lens, worked, sculpted, ennobled, adorned with an almost gemological shimmer. Imperial yet dreamy.

  • Silver Ceremony captures the dazzle of sequins applied one by one: vibrant, metallic, projecting the gaze toward the future. Silver evokes wealth and power, yet within the imagination of fashion, it embodies a form of modernity. The Collection Studio: Stellar Silk, Oud Paradisio, and Silver Ceremony are available via bdkparfums.com as well as at select perfumeries and Globus Switzerland.
